- Define and maintain the top-level aircraft system architecture, ensuring cohesive integration of all subsystems.
- Perform functional decomposition of aircraft systems including avionics, propulsion, guidance & control, and payload integration.
- Develop and manage top-level system requirements with full traceability to subsystems and mission objectives.
- Provide oversight of Verification & Validation planning and execution, ensuring system-level requirements are verified and validated according to industry standards.
- Lead interface management between mechanical, avionics, software, and payload subsystems.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for UAV platforms, including SC Light UAS and other applicable standards.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams to ensure compliance requirements across the UAV development lifecycle.
- Guide and mentor junior system engineers, fostering a strong systems engineering culture.
- Maintain and update system engineering artifacts, including architecture models, interface control documents, requirement specifications, and design rationale.
- Participate in risk assessment, safety analysis, and airworthiness activities, ensuring robust and compliant system design.
