Your mission

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Applications Strategy & Portfolio Management
  • Define and execute the engineering applications strategy in alignment with Engineering and business priorities
  • Own the application portfolio roadmap, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring
  • Lead tool standardization and consolidation initiatives to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency
  • Manage vendor relationships, software licenses, and cost optimization across the tool portfolio
  • Identify and implement automation and AI/ML capabilities; incorporate into roadmap and team development
 
Technical Administration & Architecture
  • Act as technical lead and primary owner of engineering applications; perform hands-on configuration, administration, integration, and complex troubleshooting
  • Administer and maintain PLM, CAD, and other platforms including server infrastructure, databases, and application layers
  • Configure workflows, lifecycles, business rules, and integrations to support engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, roles, and security policies in accordance with data classification and export control requirements
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal operational disruption
 
Integration & Data Management
  • Configure and maintain integrations between PLM, CAD and ERP systems for BOM synchronization and data traceability
  • Support data exchange with manufacturing execution systems and requirements management tools
  • Develop and maintain automated data migration scripts and system interfaces
  • Ensure data integrity, proper file structure hierarchies, naming conventions, and change management workflows
 
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coordinate and mentor a small team; define scope, track progress, and escalate risks
  • Partner with Engineering, configuration management, and manufacturing to align tools to process needs and manage expectations
  • Drive tool awareness, training, and adoption across the organization
  • Serve as a trusted enterprise systems advisor to Engineering and IT leadership
  • Develop and deliver training materials and ensure effective support in coordination with IT
 

Your profile

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise applications, engineering systems, or related technical areas; 2+ years directly supporting engineering environments (PLM, CAD, collaboration tools). 
  • Proven track record of hands-on system administration and integration in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries. 
  • Experience with tool portfolio management, vendor negotiations, and license optimization. 
  • Proven track record of supporting engineering organizations in product development environments.
Technical Skills
  • Strong background in application architecture, administration, integrations, and development. Proficiency with PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter) and CAD/ALM tools (e.g., NX, Altium, Jira, Polarion). 
  • Experience integrating with ERP, manufacturing tools, and relational databases (e.g. SQL). 
  • Familiar with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Shell) for automation. 
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, and regulated data environments. 
  • Exposure to AI/ML and advanced analytics is a plus.
Industry Knowledge
  • Understanding of product development processes in aerospace or regulated industries. 
  • Familiar with engineering change management, configuration management, and BOM structures.
Leadership & Communication
  • Proven ability to operate as a hands-on specialist. Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communicator with both technical and business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and deliver results across cross-functional teams. Forward-thinking mindset with ability to drive adoption of emerging technologies.
Language: Good language skills in English (oral and written). German desirable.
Passport: Swiss / EU Nationals only.
Location: On-site in Näfels or Bilten, Switzerland.
